EGYPTIAN TRANSPORT

Typical of the vessels used during the reign of King Sahure (over 2,000 years ago), The Egyptian Transport carried cedar and ebony for Lebanon to Egypt. Ship builders of the era did not use pegs (treenails) or metal fasteners, but relied on rope to keep their ships afloat. Keel, frames and deck were tightly tied together.

Plank-on-frame kit by Amati is one of the most interesting we offer, as it accurately reproduces this ancient construction technique.
