- The ocean-going rescue cruiser was christened Bernhard Gruben on
16.10.1997,after the foreman of the Alfried Krupp who was lost at sea during
a mission in 1995.
- The daughter boat Johann Fidi(II) was christened in memory of the Rass
family of Norderney, which had provided several generations of lifeboat crew
members.
- The daughter boat can be operated as an independently controlled model.
